These terms explain the agreement between you and us when you use Closer. We’ve kept them as clear and human as we could.

Agreement to Terms

By using the Closer app or website, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Closer is operated by Closer LLC, a company formed in Wyoming, United States. If you don’t agree with these terms, please don’t use the service.

The Service

Closer is a daily ritual app: a morning check-in, an evening reflection, and a Circle that helps you nurture your relationships. We provide the service on an “as available” basis and may add, change, or remove features as the app evolves. We’ll aim to give you notice of significant changes.

Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Closer. There are no accounts — your journal lives on your device and in your own private iCloud, and you’re responsible for keeping your device secure.

Subscriptions & Purchases

Capturing your day in Closer is free, and stays free. Some features — like a Circle larger than 3 people, history beyond the last 7 days, and insights beyond a monthly highlight — require Closest, our premium subscription, purchased through the Apple App Store:

• Plans: $10.99 per month, or $69.99 per year. The yearly plan includes a 7-day free trial.
• Billing: Payment is charged to your Apple account and handled by Apple, not by us. We never see your payment details.
• Auto-renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Cancelling: You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime in your App Store account settings. Cancelling stops future renewals; it doesn’t refund the current period. Everything you’ve written stays yours either way — on your device and in your private iCloud.
• Restoring: You can restore a previous purchase anytime from the app’s settings.
• Refunds: Refund requests are handled by Apple under their policies.
• Price changes: If prices change, we’ll give you notice, and changes will only apply to future billing periods.

Your Content

Your journal entries, reflections, photo and video moments, and Circle are yours. You own them — and they stay on your device and in your own private iCloud. We don’t have servers, and we make no ownership claim over anything you write. How your data is handled is described in our Privacy Policy.

Acceptable Use

When using Closer, you agree not to:

• Use the service for anything unlawful.
• Attempt to reverse engineer, copy, or resell the app.
• Interfere with or disrupt the service, or try to access other users’ data.

Intellectual Property

The Closer app, website, branding, design, and all content we create (excluding your content) belong to Closer LLC and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not use them without our permission.

Apple App Store

These terms are between you and Closer LLC, not Apple. Where these terms don’t cover something, Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA) applies. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app, and Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.

Disclaimers

Closer is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. We don’t guarantee the service will always be uninterrupted or error-free.

Closer is a tool for reflection and connection — it is not medical, psychological, or mental-health advice, and it’s not a substitute for professional care. If you’re struggling, please reach out to a qualified professional or a local support service.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Closer LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits rights that can’t be limited under applicable law.

Termination

You can stop using Closer at any time. To erase your journal completely, use Settings → Delete Everything, which removes it from your device and from your iCloud; simply deleting the app removes it from that device but leaves your iCloud copy in place. We may terminate your license to use the app if you violate these terms. Sections that by their nature should survive (like Your Content, Disclaimers, and Limitation of Liability) survive termination.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you live outside the United States, you keep any rights granted by mandatory consumer-protection laws in your country.

Changes to These Terms

If we make significant changes to these terms, we’ll notify you through the app and update this page before the changes take effect. Continuing to use Closer after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
